Manufacturing Sector Of Chesapeake

The manufacturing sector of any city is an important part of the local economy. Local manufacturing means work for people of all different skill levels. This is particularly true in today's manufacturing environment, where the sector covers everything from the creation of mobile homes to specialized electronic equipment vital to airlock repair.

The city of Chesapeake in Virginia enjoys a long history of manufacturing, as it is an amalgamation of some of the oldest town sites to be found anywhere in the United States of America. Commercial and industrial interests run throughout the city's borders, creating products which are sold to sites all over the United States and indeed throughout the world. The companies which manufacture these products are important sources of external revenue, revenue which is used to purchase still more products and services and support the local economy further.

Several industries are represented in the manufacturing sector of Chesapeake. The technology sector is particularly well represented through companies such as VT Milcom. This company manufactures a wide variety of products in its 23000 square foot fabrication facility on the Atlantic coast. Equipment running from a pneumatic conveyor to punch presses are used to build a multitude of products.

These products include computer work stations and networking enclosures, and various components which make hotel wifi operating systems possible. Other high technology manufacturing facilities run out of Chesapeake include the Trandes corporation and AMT.

Chesapeake is also the home of a few major players in the metalworks industry. This may come as no surprise, given the city's link to other major metal working areas in the United States, including Pittsburgh to the north and Raleigh to the south.

Those familiar with how a metal bender works will have no problem finding employment within the Chesapeake area. At last count, there were over three dozen strong companies who specialize in creating metal products for distribution on a local, national, and international level.

The products manufactured by companies such as Riverside Metal Works can be found in buildings and building forms right in the Virginia area, or as part of the operations in a Windsor auto body shop far to the north. As is the case with the technology industry, the capacity for production and shipping within the Chesapeake metal industry ensures that a large flow of outside dollars contributes to the growth of the local economy.

Various other manufacturing industries are also represented within the Chesapeake area. The Kogok Corporation is a relatively new business, but is already earning a good reputation nationwide. The company creates duct work for commercial applications and ships its products at the national level. In operation since 1996, the company has made significant strides within its market place since that time.

Incorporating everything from computer equipment and computer related products to steel works and duct work, the manufacturing sector in Chesapeake is nothing less than diverse. There are a multitude of jobs for employees of all skill levels within the sector, ensuring a strong economy and sound investment for years to come.
